In the wilderness lies the preservation of the world.

The Adventure begins…
At 6am we meet at the train station to start our long journey. Only those who pass Hannes’ multiple passport checks can come along. Everyone is hugely excited, despite the fatigue. Tobi is most excited about the airplanes, especially the big ones. Felix thinks it’s “better than school”. We are loaded down with backpacks when Pascale picks us up in Frankfurt. Thankfully she has cookies, very very good cookies (and very very many cookies), that sustain us through the sometimes not-so-easy security checks. Pascale is relieved that she doesn’t have to go through the explosives check for once, and also Lina, who is going on her very first plane ride, passes easily. Gudrun joins us later (“Hi Gudrun, do you want a cookie?”), as she has just traveled from Austria.
From this moment on, Kathi and Gudrun say: Let’s talk in English! But before Tobi explodes with excited anticipation (“Look! There’s a Boeing 747!”) we finally board our flight to Vancouver.
