Students and their sponsors get involved with the run "Take a Walk for the Wild"
Planting trees is one of the school projects by Wilderness International

Take a Walk for the Wild

Under our "Take a Walk for the Wild” wilderness runs campaign, students and sponsors come together to raise funds to protect wilderness with the help of many volunteers and the staff at Wilderness International.

For a wilderness run event, students seek out sponsors to raise funds to preserve unique, pristine wilderness areas. Sponsors agree to donate a specified amount for each round or lap (typically on a sports ground) the students run. You can see the commitment of the students of the last wilderness run at Wilderness Run 2010

The sponsored amounts are dedicated to the conservation of designated wilderness areas (see Conservation Projects) or for school projects.

Our next "Take a Walk for the Wild" project takes place in
- Duncan (Canada) on May 25th, 2011

You will find more information about the runs in Leipzig and Dresden in May at Wilderness runs 2010 Leipzig and Dresden.

We're extremely grateful to our corporate sponsors! Thanks to your generous support, all the costs for the event have been covered allowing for 100% of the money raised by the students to be used directly for the wilderness sponsorship and conservation programs.
