In the wilderness lies the preservation of the world.

Rain is Part of the Wilderness – Day 8
Today begins with rain and clouds and none of us want to leave our tents. We finally get up at 9.30am. Thankfully, everyone makes it because the day turns out to be awesome. In the afternoon, when it stops raining, I find a seven-dotted ladybug on an alder. I am really lucky, so far I haven’t seen one of these in the Toba Valley. And that isn’t my only success today. I go fishing for the first time in my life and am really successful. After a few unelegant tries, all of a sudden the pole is heavier than before. I have the feeling that something has changed. And I am right! I catch a char (about 45 cm long)! That is the biggest fish we catch today. After dinner it starts raining again. But that’s part of the fun, isn’t it? That’s why we call it wilderness!
