In the summer of 2014, eight environmental ambassadors from Dresden, Leipzig and Frankfurt will explore the Toba Valley, the untouched wilderness that hosts the areas protected by Wilderness International. The environmental ambassadors not only learn how to traditionally build drums, but above all learn what wilderness means. They listen to the howling wolves, experience the impenetrability of the jungle and the unpredictability of nature: Twice the expedition group is surprised by a flood. The pupils carry out forest inventories, make instructional videos and dedicate themselves to their own scientific projects. Huge trees, gigantic expanse and the incomparable silence of nature fascinate the environmental ambassador especially.
