In the wilderness lies the preservation of the world.

Destination: Adventure – Grizzlytour Day 1
“I was afraid I wouldn’t hear the alarm clock this morning!” said every single one of the expedition participants. We, the expedition team, are on a mission. We want to show our partners and a couple of journalists the reality of the protected wild nature of the temperate rainforests on the west coast of Canada.
We will travel through this unique nature for the next seven days. On the trip are: Johann-Georg Cyffka (DIAMIR Erlebnisreisen), Carsten Siegel (SK Touristik), Christian Haas (abenteuer und reisen), Erik van de Perre (outdoor magazin), Knut Werblow (Cintinus Steuerberatungsgesellschaft), Fabian Mühlberger (wildlife photographer and biologist), and the trip is led by David MacDonald (CEO Wilderness International Canada), Kai Andersch (CEO Wilderness International) and Tobias Hürten (Wilderness International, drone pilot).
We board our Air Canada flight and quietly fly over Greenland, to Calgary, and from there to Vancouver. Above the clouds there are really only three topics of discussion: bears, salmon and eagles. “Do we really want to set up an electric fence or would the grizzlies be surprised if they got hit by an electric current at night?” Or: “When do we jump away if we defend ourselves with pepper spray?” Then we get some rental cars and hop on the ferry. After about 26 hours of travel we arrive in our accommodations in Victoria. There’s not much more to say except Good night!
