A totem pole for Cologne, 2013

From an ordinary tree of life creates a unique totem pole! In 2013, Cowichan First Nations carved this gift for the city of Cologne that was so meaningful to them. In its tradition, it symbolizes a signpost: It offers protection, strength and wisdom. For several weeks a thunderbird, a bear, a she-wolf and two salmon took on their wooden form - they symbolize the close connection between man and nature.
